Shanghai Tunnel - Jianning West Road Cross River Passage

The Jianning West Road Cross River Tunnel is the closest cross river tunnel to the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, and is an important passage connecting the main city of Jiangnan and the national level new area of Jiangbei. The total length of the Jianning West Road cross river passage is about 6.8 kilometers, of which the tunnel section is about 3.55 kilometers long. The section crossing the Yangtze River is constructed using shield tunneling method. The shield tunneling section is about 2362 meters long, with an outer diameter of 14.5 meters and an excavation diameter of 15.07 meters.

Shield tunneling requires passing through various complex geological conditions such as super permeable sand layers, uneven composite layers of soft and hard, and wide fault fracture zones. At the same time, during the construction process, the anti-skid pile group on the south bank of the Yangtze River was cut off, and the subway station on Line 5 was underpass. Crossing the Yangtze River, the maximum longitudinal slope of the line is 4.5%, and the tunnel cover and water pressure are high: the maximum water pressure from the tunnel arch is 62.2 meters, the minimum soil cover thickness at the bottom of the river is only 10.4 meters, and the maximum groundwater pressure is 7.7 bar.

The project uses Herrenknecht φ A 15.07 meter mud water shield tunnel with 4 oil and grease compartments sealed at the tail of the shield, with 18 grease injection points in each compartment

The CONDAT WR90NG WR89NG HBW EP2 series products are used throughout the entire process, ensuring stable product usage. The sealing condition of the shield tail is good, and there is no water or slurry leakage. The product dosage is stable.

Sincere thanks to Shanghai Tunnel for providing us with this cooperation platform, and we look forward to further cooperation with Shanghai Tunnel in various fields of tunnel development in the future!
